Diabetes Association (ADA) using Access, Visual Basic
6, SQL Server 7.0 and ASP since August 1996. |

The
American Diabetes Association (ADA) produces and distributes
hundreds of items such as books, journals, manuals,
guides, tee-shirts, and other various materials. To
effectively manage these items, ADA needed a comprehensive
and integrated system to organize information, track
orders, keep schedules, analyze performance and produce
reports on these items. Subsequently ADA retained IOS
to develop a system that will meet ADA's current and
future needs. This system was fueled from data residing
on a Microsoft SQL Server database.

• Planning
and Budgeting Tool (PBT) Database |

Developed
a MS Access application, "Planning and Budgeting Tool
(PBT)." PBT has been the primary application for ADA's
planners & comptrollers to develop & coordinate the
ADA Nationwide Business Plan/Budget. Budgets are developed
at individual ADA offices nationally. PBT allows manages
to roll-up data through Regional offices & ultimately
at the National Office headquarters. Data can then
be automatically uploaded into their AS/400 based
accounting system. PBT, version 1.0 was initially
deployed nationally in Jan 97, with formal training
provided by IOS.
