The
World Bank - Secured Internet Web Application |
|

This
application is a component of the Knowledge Management System
of the World Bank's Human Development Network. It offers country
data on a variety of macroeconomic indicators in an easy to
use web-based environment. Users are provided with a tool
to allow them to search and compare different economic indicators
of different countries using a variety of reporting tools
including graphical reports. This application was developed
as internet/intranet application based on Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.0 and using Microsoft ActiveX components, ActiveX
documents, Visual Basic 6.0 ASP, IIS4.0, ActiveX Formula One
spreadsheet tool, ActiveX First Impression charting tool and
SQL Server as a backend database server. The database access
was performed using ADO and RDS (Remote Data Services). The
business layer was based on using COM/DCOM running on Windows
NT Server 4.0 and MTS. |
